Margaret Riegel Illustration

Margaret creates illustrations using collage, drawing and photography. The process starts with preliminary pencil sketches. With her experienced eye, she then layers images—sometimes existing, sometimes original—to create the finished illustration. The result is an ethereal composition that communicates much more than the sum of its parts. Some of her award-winning illustrations have appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, Time, Newsweek, Fortune, Forbes; American Express, General Electric, Merrill Lynch, Oracle, Pitney Bowes, TIAA-CREF, Hill Holliday; Little, Brown and Company. Margaret has received awards from American Illustration, The Society of Publication Designers and The Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles. Her work was exhibited in the Illustrators of The New York Times show at the Society of Illustrators and has been recognized by top trade publications.
